restaurants
May 23, 2017 | Richmond limousine service, Virginia limousine service | Randy Allen

The capital of Virginia has more to offer than its rich history and charming small town vibe. Richmond also boasts an impressive culinary scene. Here are four of the most popular restaurants in Richmond, Virginia.

Pasture

When dining out in Richmond, it’s easy to find tasty Southern cuisine. No one does Southern dishes quite like Pasture, however, a destination restaurant located on East Grace Street. This establishment, which is run by Jason Alley, experiments with classic Southern cuisine to brilliant effect. The menu offers a wide assortment of tasty dishes, ranging from house-made snacks to the jerk-braised pork shoulder. Pasture also provides its guests with a delectable assortment of Virginia-inspired cocktails and drinks. If you’re looking for Southern comfort with the 21st-century twist, you can’t go wrong with this beloved local restaurant.

Mama J’s

Mama J’s has long been a fixture in the Richmond culinary scene. This city staple serves up some of the best soul food the city has to offer, and the friendly atmosphere makes Mama J’s a fun place to grab a bite. The menu offers all the fried food you could possibly want, from fried chicken to catfish nuggets. Pair the delicious entrees with some of Mama J’s classic Southern sides, like macaroni and cheese, candied yams, seafood salad, or coleslaw. The a la carte menu allows you to mix and match your favorite dishes, so you’ll never be disappointed by a trip to Mama J’s.

Lemaire

If you want the perfect venue for a special night out, head to Lemaire. This restaurant has been serving the residents of Richmond fine food for more than 20 years, but it never fails to offer a modern dining experience. Located in the iconic Jefferson Hotel, this restaurant is decked out in stately Southern style, with high ceilings and marble columns. The menu is inspired by the farm-to-table philosophy, and it draws on local merchants to create one of a kind meals. From Chesapeake Bay oysters to Virginia maple glazed bone-in pork chops, the Lemaire makes the most of the rich Virginian bounty. Don’t forget to check out the drink menu, as it boasts history-inspired cocktails like the Jefferson’s Word.

The Roosevelt

The Roosevelt is the place to go for cutting edge Southern cuisine. This restaurant, which opened in 2011 to immediate acclaim, is located in the historical Church Hill neighborhood. There’s nothing old-fashioned about the food, however, which is served with an all-Virginia wine list and a delicious roster of cocktails. The adventurous menu ranges from the traditional (the double cheeseburger) to the decadent (whipped ricotta crostini with local honey and strawberries), and it always impresses. You should also visit for brunch!

If you want to make your dining experience extra special, consider hiring our limo service in Richmond. By using our safe, luxurious Virginia car service, you and your date can be ferried to and from the restaurant of your choice without having to worry about parking or how many cocktails you’ve had. It’s a great way to make the most of your next night out in Richmond.
