Costly Travel Mistakes Every Traveler Should Avoid

October 30, 2018 | Charlottesville airport shuttle, Richmond limousine service, Virginia limousine service | Randy Allen

Let’s be objective, there is just no way to plan for every possible setback that may occur during a trip. It is almost always impossible for your trip to go exactly how you planned it and, as such, we should all learn to give ourselves a break when our trips don’t exactly go ‘perfectly’. Nonetheless, our Charlottesville Airport Shuttle Service has found that there are measures we can take to ensure that our trips go as smoothly as they can possibly go. We can achieve this by simply avoiding these common mistakes made by travelers.

Overlooking the Car Service Option

First, we would like to recommend employing the services of a concierge car service like our Virginia Car Service for the purposes of easing your ground transportation. Ground navigation can be a nightmare, especially when you are in unfamiliar territory, and the experience alone could end up ruining your entire trip. Let a seasoned, professional chauffeur handle all the driving and navigation on your behalf as you simply enjoy a comfortable and luxurious ride, fully indulge in the company of your friends/family, and take the time to really focus on the agenda of your trip as opposed to spending half your time trying to figure out whether you should take the next exit or the one after that.

Over Packing

The art of packing just what you need seems to be an ancient art that is only born out of several miscalculations. However, a wise man once said, ‘A smart man leans from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others.’ Well, you are in luck, you don’t have to learn the hard way, we are here to give you a tip on how to pack light and ensure that you are not dragging around heavy luggage throughout the duration of your journey.

Simply pack everything you want to bring along on your trip as you normally would and after you are done packing, remove half of everything in your suitcase/suitcases and whatever is left is all you need. If it comes down to it, you can always do some laundry on the road or even purchase a few items at your destination. Both are better options than dragging around bulky luggage; trust us, it’s an absolute pain when you are traveling.

Forgetting to Back Up Photos

On a trip you are bound to see numerous places, eat at several gorgeous spots, sleep in different rooms and hotels, etc. and you are bound to document these moments in photographic form. Imagine losing all these immortalized moments simply because you misplaced a phone or a camera? We recommend that you invest in a small hard disk where you will back up all your photographs and videos at the end of each day. Alternatively, you could upload all your new content onto your Google drive from your phone every few hours. This way, even if you lost your camera/phone, you will still have those memorable moments safe with you somewhere.
