Body typically means alcohol content. White wines are generally light bodied. Red wines are usually medium to full bodied. Wines with an alcohol content of 12.5 percent are light bodied. If the alcohol content is 12.5 to 13.5 percent, it is considered medium bodied. Alcohol content above 13.5 percent is considered full-bodied.
