The Paul Taylor Dance Company and Pablo Ziegler Ensemble
What a way to kick off the new season; the Paul Taylor Dance Company and Pablo Ziegler Ensemble is scheduled to go down on the 14th of September between 7pm and 9pm at the Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg. Paul Taylor and Pablo Ziegler are scheduled to join forces and give a passionate dance performance. Paul Taylor has choreographed dance for over five decades and has created a reputation for himself as an American Dance titan. Pablo Ziegler, on the other hand, is an Argentine pianist who gained popularity after touring with Astor Piazzolla’s. Taylor will be exploring the boundaries of the tango as live music is provided by Ziegler to bring about a perfect, sultry dance performance.
Port Royal’s Annual Pirate Invasion
Head over to the Port Royal Town Hall in the town of Port Royal on the 15th and 16th of September, each day between 10am and 6pm. Port Royal hosts the Pirate Invasion event each year in celebration of the town’s birth which is over 250 years old. The event is completely free and open to all and will feature the local pirate, Peuman, and a detailed description of the town’s maritime history. Attendees will also get to enjoy live music entertainment from local bands as well as a wine and beer garden. You will additionally get to enjoy an adult costume contest, a kids’ pirate parade, cannon blasts, pony rides, face painting, craft vendors, food trucks, and much more.
Wine by the Lake
This event will be held at the Lake Anna State Park on the 15th of September. The festival is meant to showcase local food and vendors, wineries, and music. At the event, you will get to visit the Ranger Table and learn more about jungle survival and experience personal encounters with various animals. General admissions to the event will allow you full access to the event, one free glass of wine, access to food vendors, and live music entertainment.
