Your Ultimate In-flight Travel Checklist

January 9, 2018 | Virginia limousine service | Randy Allen

Whether or not you’re a seasoned business traveler, it can be difficult to know what items you really need to take with you on the plane when you’re on a work trip. Use our handy checklist below to make sure you’ve got all you need for a flawless flight experience!

  • Noise-cancelling headphones

If you’re a regular traveler you’ll know there’s nothing more distracting than the inevitable raucousness of a full flight. Whether its screaming kids, chatty groups of friends, or just the drone of the aircraft engine, noise-cancelling headphones are your saviour! While they are much better at cancelling out white noise such as engine sound, they will also help more than regular headphones if you are surrounded by rowdy travellers. Invest in a good pair and they’ll last you for years!

  • Snacks and water

Whilst most airlines will offer you some form of complimentary snacks or beverages, these aren’t always served straight away and if there is rough air the flight crew may even be required to abstain from service altogether. It’s always best to carry some water and a few small snacks if you can, that way you’ll be prepared should there be any delays once you’re on-board the aircraft and will allow you to access your own preferred refreshments at any time.

  • A good book

Air travel can be a great opportunity to sit down and get stuck into that book you’ve been meaning to start for months but just haven’t found the time. Take the chance to relax and unwind whilst you fly and you are away from the distraction of constant email notifications or phone calls from your boss.

  • Your laptop or tablet

It is always useful to be able to fit in a bit of extra work or access important documents whilst you travel, so it is worth bringing your laptop or tablet in your carry-on if you do have space. If you are able to access everything you need on your tablet, consider leaving your laptop at home altogether – a tablet will be much lighter, less bulky, and you won’t have to worry about switching it on and off and storing it during the flight – simply put it in flight mode and you’ll be good to go!

  • Notepads

When technology fails you (which it inevitably will every now and then) or your battery is well and truly run down, it is a good idea to have a back up in the form of a notepad and pen to jot down any ideas that come to mind or important tasks that you need to deal with later. You may even prefer this way of working whilst you travel as it allows you to pack light and you never need to worry about battery life or switching anything into airplane mode.

As well as all the in-flight essentials, make sure you plan your onward travel carefully to ensure you aren’t left waiting around at the airport. Our Virginia car service has you covered – with our reliable and punctual chauffeurs you can be sure that wherever your onward journey may take you, they’ll get you there in luxurious comfort so you can sit back and relax after your tiring journey.
