4th of July events in Richmond 2017

June 27, 2017 | Charlottesville limo service, Richmond limousine service, things to do in Richmond, Virginia limousine service | Randy Allen

Historic Richmond, Virginia is a terrific place to spend your July 4th holiday. Our city is full of American history, architecture and culture from the Federal and Colonial periods, Civil War era and the American Revolution. On July 4th, Richmond provides the best in family-friendly entertainment with activities in and along the James River, dazzling fireworks displays, exciting baseball games, and educational history tours. Adults can appreciate a variety of vineyards, fabulous patio and rooftop bars, or maybe take a tour of our numerous breweries. No matter your preference for Independence Day fun in the River City, our professional and courteous chauffeurs can get you to the center of the action in safety and comfort.

Fireworks

Enjoy America’s pastime by heading to The Diamond to watch Richmond’s Flying Squirrels face the mound against the Erie Sea Wolves at 6:35 p.m., followed by the city’s most impressive fireworks display, which is included in the cost of admission to the game.

Just a few miles south of Boulevard from The Diamond, Dogwood Dell in Byrd Park will host its annual free concerts starting at 6:15 p.m. with fireworks to follow. Bring a blanket and pack a picnic to best enjoy the sights and sounds of this traditional Richmond event.

If you would rather view the fireworks while enjoying a refreshing cocktail, Richmond has several rooftop patio bars that offer great views of the fireworks and city skyline, such as Maple & Pine at the boutique Quirk Hotel or the tiki lounge at Kabana Rooftop.

For an early weekend celebration, the 2nd annual Innsbrook Taste of Virginia food festival will be held July 1st. After you spend your day sampling delicious $3 plates from Richmond area restaurants, enjoy the only fireworks in the area that are offered on Saturday night.

Daytime Fun

Historians and history lovers should plan to visit St. John’s Church, where Patrick Henry, one of our Founding Fathers, famously gave his “Give me liberty or give me death” speech in 1775, a contributing factor leading to the Revolutionary War.

Voted the 4th best botanical garden in the United States by USA Today, Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens is offering free admission on the Fourth of July. Explore over 50 acres and a dozen of themed gardens on their beautiful and historic grounds.

Rent a bicycle on the Canal Walk and explore the Capital Trail, where you can ride as far as Williamsburg along the scenic James River. Our chauffeurs can arrange to meet you and your bike for a comfortable and convenient return trip at your destination point.

Tour the James River Plantations in our experienced Virginia limo service along Route 5 in Charles City County between Richmond and Williamsburg. Travel to another age at the Pre-Antebellum homes of Sherwood Forest, Westover, Shirley, Evelynton and Berkeley Plantations.

For an elegant and delectable experience, take a tour of the many vineyards and wineries that the Commonwealth has to offer, such as the beautiful New Kent Winery, James River Cellars, or Shirley Vineyards, all located within 30 minutes of Downtown Richmond.

We hope you will let us share in your Independence Day celebration when you take advantage of our professional and safe limo service in Richmond. Please give us a call to reserve your 4th of July limousine today.
