The American Music Festival
The American Music Festival is scheduled to go down between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September on 5th Street in Virginia Beach. For three consecutive days, rock n roll, country music, jazz, RnB, Blues, and more genres will flood the air at this Cruzan Rum-sponsored event. This is going to be the largest musical concert of the year in the East Coast, bringing together artists from all musical genres and all regions of country to play at this giant stage; there will also be stages in all the parks bordering the boardwalk. This is the Tomorrowland of the East Coast and, as mentioned, there is a little something for everyone, so no one has an excuse for missing out.
The Labor Day Car Show
The 19th annual Labor Day Car Show is scheduled for the 3rd of September in Fairfax between 8 am and 3 pm, so if you plan to attend, don’t be late. You will get to enjoy displays of hundreds of unique vehicles, from antiques to modern customized models; it’s a motor head’s paradise. Attendees will also be entertained by live music performances, get to purchase food from all the local vendors who will have set up shop there, and to top it all off, the event is absolutely free. However, attendees are encouraged to make donations that will go into funding local charities.
The Rock n Roll Half Marathon
The Marathon is set to take place in two segments between the 1st and 2nd of September starting at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. You can choose between the Half Marathon Race, the 5K, or the One-Mile Race. The event will also feature a health and fitness expo with over 60 exhibitors offering free samples and showcasing the latest in sports apparel and running gear. All participants will receive a free towel and a medal after completing this fun experience along the beach.
