Virginia Christmas Lights Tours

December 5, 2017 | Richmond limousine service, Virginia limousine service | Randy Allen

When it comes to festive cheer, there’s nothing like holiday lights to put a touch of sparkle into your holiday celebrations. So this year why not treat your family and friends to a special tour of the best Christmas lights Virginia has to offer in our comfy, luxurious Virginia car service. Cozy up and let our friendly chauffeurs take you to one (or more!) of these spectacular holiday lights displays.

  • Dominion Festival of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens

This spectacular winter festival features over half a million dazzling lights, beautiful hand-crafted botanical decorations, family-friendly activities, and a fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate all on offer right through until January 8 (with the exception of December 24 and 25), from 5pm to 10pm nightly. There will be carolling from 6.30pm every Tuesday, family craft events on Wednesdays, and festive story time on Mondays, amongst many other special events. The theme for this year’s displays is Naturally Ever After: Stories in Lights, so expect to see a variety of recognizable legends, fairytales, folklore stories, and classic tales represented.

  • Dominion Garden of Lights at Norfolk Botanical Garden

Drive through this incredible 2-mile long display featuring more than a million twinkling lights within the beautiful Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Now in it’s 24th year this stunning display is sure to transport you to a sparkling winter wonderland, so tune the radio and enjoy the festive Christmas tunes as you marvel at the magical sights. The event runs right through December 31 and is open 5.30pm to 10pm nightly. There is no need to buy a ticket in advance – just turn up on the night as it suits you!

  • Natural Tunnel State Park Holiday Lighting of the Tunnel, Duffield

For a holiday light display with a twist look no further than Virginia’s Natural Tunnels State Park. The passageway itself was naturally carved by a river over thousands of years and was subsequently used as a tunnel for the Norfolk Southern railroad. But it comes alive during December, with the whole park bathing in the glow from thousands of lights right from the park entrance, to the chairlift, and through the tunnel itself. Warm up at the fire pit, roast marshmallows in the Carter Cabin whilst listening to stories from 1775 Frontier Christmas reenactors, or feast on hot chocolate and popcorn as you marvel at the natural beauty of the park.

  • Illuminate Light Show and Santa’s Village at The Meadow Event Park

Central Virginia’s largest drive through Christmas lights show features nearly a million LED lights all twinkling away to your favorite holiday songs. After you have taken in the display, why not stop in to Santa’s Village where you can meet the man himself up until December 23 (when he’ll be returning to the North Pole for delivery duties!) or do some last minute Christmas shopping from specially selected vendors selling a variety of unique gifts. There will also be delicious hot food and drinks available to warm you up as you take a stroll around the village. The event runs nightly from 5.30pm to 10pm, right through to December 31.
